Now that my secondhand Braumeister has arrived, I have downloaded a manual written in English. Toward the end, it says something amazing, for German brewers.
Every year, these poor guys have to send their government a letter saying when they'll start brewing and what they'll brew. They even have to give the location where they brew. And they have to say they won't brew more than 200 liters per year, which is insane. For me, that would be less than one beer per month. I will probably stay under that level forever, but I know a lot of guys here never would.
I know we have some stupid state laws on the books here in the US, but it's totally different, because being Americans, we pay no attention to them.
