Something I'm trying soon, just wanted to get some feedback.
5 gallon batch
10 lbs 2-Row
1 lb Special B
.75 lb Chocolate Malt
.75 lb Victory Malt
.5 lb Caramel 80
.5 lb Roasted Barley
1 lb Lactose 15 min
Mash @ 155 60 min
Willamette hops 60 min
EK Goldings 5 min
White Labs California Ale
I plan on throwing one vanilla bean in the boil for ~5 minutes and then adjusting as needed when I keg with some extract. I'm trying to hit ~30 IBU but my computer is on the fritz and I can't run it through beersmith. Also I don't have experience with using lactose. Are there better ways to use it then what I have listed? Any thoughts?
