Hello everyone, I have a few soda stream bottles and as they were designed to hold pressure and have a decent surface area I am considering making some sort of mini kegerator using the paintball style cos canisters you get with them. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Most of my thoughts is coming from combining this idea

With the soda stream bottles. looking forward to hearing back. Id need to find a regulator for the small co2 thing obviously wonder if this is possible.

I know I will be told for the time and money go full size. It would lead to a lot of waste I am now a low carb person and my diet only allows me one night a week to partake in beer as such my consumption has gone way back.

looking forward to thoughts anyone think its doable or have a better way to go about it? Id love to get away from the co2 mini things the system above runs off of.

Honestly I would stick to bottles. A liter bottle is only two pints, you get the worst of both (bottle and keg) if you keg at that size.

If you want to get into co2 and don't want to spring for a 5lb + tank, you can get an adapter:

And I'm getting one of these on my next trip to the LHBS for multiple uses:

That is more or less what you are proposing (but a bit more versatile), I would skip the faucet.
