I've made this recipe: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f126/choconut-porter-54159/ at few times, and the 1st time, it was perfect (to me), but I used all extract. The 2nd time was all grain and the hazelnut was way too strong. The last time I left it out all together. I'm wanting to make it again soon and was going to bottle half with the flavoring and half without, and only use 1/2oz for 2.5 gallons, vs the 1oz that would normally go with that amount of beer. Instead of using the flavoring, would hazelnut syrup work?
