I have a Bayou Classic propane burner with a regulator identical to this one http://www.bayouclassicdepot.com/m5hpr1_propane_regulator.htm.
I just got a newly filled 20 lb propane cylinder and brewed with it last Saturday and didn't have any problems. Today I connected my regulator to the tank and opened the valve on the propane tank. To my surprise gas began escaping rapidly with a strong hissing noise. There is a hole on the red part of the regulator where it appears the gas is escaping from. I know I can't light the burner with gas leaking from the regulator. Does anyone know what the problem is, and can I fix it?

Thanks!

+1 on a new regulator...it's not worth risking an explosion for saving a few bucks. Good luck.
