This is our clubs 2nd annual homebrew competition. Last year in celebration of Mississippi passing it's homebrew bill we only opened the competition to Mississippi AHA members. This allowed us to celebrate Mississippi as well as get our feet wet at starting and running a competition. In our opinion it was a great success with 48 entries and the winner of last years competition is in the process of brewing his beer at Crooked Letter Brewing Company to be released as a seasonal. It was a Foreign Extra Stout and was enjoyed by all.
This year we are opening the competition to all AHA members no matter where you live! Entry's are only $5 per beer entered and we are limiting the number of entries to 200. Awards are in the standard of Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals as well as various amounts of Swag that we receive from sponsors. Last year we had shirts, glasses, sanitizer, pbw, coupons for all things homebrew, etc.
We are still looking for a few certified judges in the south east region if you are interested. The judging will take place at the Golden Nugget Casino in Biloxi, MS.
