So I followed the directions on my smack pack of wyeast - nudged the nutrient pack into the corner, smacked it open, then let it sit for about 4 hours and watched it swell up. When I cut open the pack, I noticed that there were one popped and one unpopped pack in there. There unpopped one was full of brown liquid. I figured that since it had swelled up, everything was okay and poured it in my fermenter. Is my batch screwed?

Didn't realize there was two separate packets in there. I was always told to smack it like it owed you money. Hope it turns out alright for you.

Sounds like you will be ok, since the pack swelled, means the yeast got the nutrients. Maybe you had a pack that had two nutrient packs in it.
