I recently brewed a brown ale that I am looking to sour. It has completed fermentation with saccromyaces, and now I have racked it to a Better Bottle for long term aging. I added a few pounds of cherries, as well as Brett B. I know some Lacto or Pedio would be good, which brings me to my question:

Can I just throw a handful of grain into the secondary to innoculate it with Lacto?

This would be easy and cheaper thsn purchasing a culture. I'm planning on aging at least 6-8 months.

Should have performed a sour fermentation before pitching your primary yeast. The lacto will have a very hard time surviving in the post-fermentation environment with the high IBUs. You would be better off either making a sour and blending them together or pitch pedio.
