Hello,

I searched but could not find. Is the accumulation of trub in the bottom of your primary fermenter any evidence of fermentation? or is it just hop/grain particulate?

Pat

Accumulation of trub is not an indicator of fermentation. Activity in the airlock is evidence that gas is escaping from your fermenter, which is most likely evidence of fermentation taking place. At times there may be no airlock activity, but fermentation is still occurring. The only way to know for sure is take a gravity reading to see if there is a change from your OG.
