So I hit my strike perfectly, and settled down to the target 154. Few minutes later, I put the burner on for just a second to maintain my mash temp.

....minutes later, I'm cursing and dumping water in the pot to bring it back down because I walked away and forgot.

...twice...

My oatmeal mash now has a decidedly campfire-esque quality about it. I thought about scrapping the whole batch and trying again tomorrow with new grains, but my attention spam isn't likely to improve overnight. I'm gonna let this play out.
 
Might as well pitch the yeast and see what happens. I'm sure you'll find a way to choke it down! :beer:
 
I was distracted because I was running late for a poker game. Fortunately, I won enough at the game to cover the two kegs I just bought this week.

Totally worth it.
