Generally, yes. But it depends. Talk about hedging my bets, huh?
If the OG is under 1.050 or so, and it's not a beer with any flavors that need to mellow (like some harsh roasted malts, or lotsa hops), then that schedule would work ok. If it's a "bigger" beer that needs more time, I like to keep it in the keg at room temperature until it's ready to be chilled.
