hi my flat bottom fermzilla with temp twister coil arrived and i hooked it up to the recirculating cooler box i built and tried it out. right now i have 6 gallons of amber lager fermenting in there. i got it down to 54 degrees in a 72 degree room with just changing out the 1 gallon frozen water jug once every 24 hours. i was actually surprised how well it works to cool the wort with just a coil full of icewater. it went from 66 deg to 54 in just an hour . i still have more than enough headspace so i think i will try a 6.5 gallon batch next time. not sure if i can get it down to crash temps but its not essential. this will free up my ferm chamber for another FV. very happy with my purchase right now.

this is an easy low budget way to get temp control in a quality fermenting vessel.
