I have a few controllers. All are dual purpose, meaning you can control the fridge for cooling and control a lamp or heat strip to warm if temp drops below desired set point. The one in the picture, is used for a RIMS tube, and doubles as control for a chest freezer when I lager. I switched to HERMS a few years ago, but do use it sometimes when I'm doing back to back batches to heat the HLT(hot water on demand). I do not have pics of the other controllers on hand, but they are similar in design. I can send you pics when I get back home tomorrow if you want. I've made several control panels for local brewers, and have accumulated many components over the years. So if you want something different in design, simpler, or something with more features let me know, and I could get you a price according to your specific needs. designhttps://www.dropbox.com/sh/pzzbya1a4v73tgh/AAAP4sxzCAY--y96tX4eW8tua?dl=0

I use the Johnson A419 controllers. SKU 40090 at Northern Brewer. They work like a dream.

You want the probe directly on the fermenter wall - not just in the refrigerator loose. The wort will be several degrees warmer than the inside of the fridge, due to the heat generated by fermentation. I use bubble wrap or thin insulation and duct tape it to the fermenter. Then wedge the probe down between the insulation and the fermenter.

I own 3 of the Johnson A419 controllers that I use. I agree they are great for controlling a ferm chamber or keezer/kegerater, or heater... but you have to open it up and switch the jumpers if you want to change from cooling to heating.

I wish I had Ranco dual stage temp controller for the Ferm Chamber when it gets too cold to let the fermentation free rise up to a D-Rest (fortunately I live in California where that is only in the dead of winter).

Sorry, got a little off topic! A used Johnson A419 would be great if you can find one.
