When does your SWMBO go to bed?

  • She's asleep way before me.

  • We like to snuggle and fall asleep together ... awww

  • I'm the early bird.

My SWMBO is in bed by 8:30 every night. Even on the weekends! Some of my greatest enlightenments happen between 10pm and 2am. I'm up til midnight at least every night. And my first homebrew is always popped between 7 or 8.

I don't understand how she sleeps so much, seems like a waste of time.

We're on conflicting schedules. She's tired when I'm awake, and vice-versa.

I'm a morning person (and I really don't like to be. I mean Morning Life? Nope, it's all Night Life.), but I have yet to met a woman who is. Had one GF, who went to bed early, but slept late! Worse than my greyhounds.

Well, when do you find time to "make bacon" so-to-speak?

Luckily, we manage to work it in between 5 and 6, after dinner.

We keep kosher, which is shocking since she's Catholic and I'm atheist.

I'm a chronic insomniac, and SWMBO is in bed by 9:30 or so every night, so she's always asleep by the time I come to bed. She always used to snore like a chainsaw cutting through a hedge apple tree, until she got a tempurpedic pillow. Now she only sounds like a weedeater. Doesn't help my sleeping situation.

<-------------- total night owl

I could be dead tired and if I'm not in bed by 9 or 10, that nighttime energy kicks in and it's like I was never sleepy

I stay up too late too often. Lately it's been here on this forum (or working on brew projects).

Midnight is about average - sometimes as late as 2. When work shifts to the early schedule, I hate life.

"Time enough for rest...in the grave." (don't know the author)

Anyway, it varies for her and me. Mostly we go to bed together, but there are times when one is in bed before the other. But, we both usually like to be in bed early, by say, 10. I'll be a civilian soon, so that may change :)

My work schedule changes every week: Days, Swings and Graves, so we try to go to bed together if my schedule allows it. I'm going to bed usually by 9 a.m. this week.

Oh and the kid throws a wrench into the sleeping schedule a lot too.

EDIT: SWMBO is a night owl and tends to stay up late, and sleep late too.

It's hard to beat a nooner! Makes the rest of the day go great with that Bob Grin on your face. :D

I like to go to bed with SWMBO most nights (most nights if I'm not working late, we have routine, part of that routine is watching tivo'd episodes of Forensic Files), and then I usually play on the laptop for a while after she is long asleep.

I am a total night owl though.

This should've allowed for multiple answers, because SWMBO both falls asleep before and gets up after me. I get about six to seven hours a night; she averages closer to ten.

My wife is in the military. She's up at 6 every morning. I'm up around 7:30 or 8:00 since I work from home.

I only need 7 hours of sleep to feel completely rested, If I sleep too long I feel tired all day.

To me, this is irony. I get a job closer to home so I can save an hour on drive-time. I end up with a boss who likes to hold meetings at 7:30am (even on Friday's) and who's asked me to come in on a Sunday and has me work late.

I'm usually getting off work after mine's asleep already. I get home around midnight to 1, and she's gotta be in to work at 4 in the a.m. so she's been in bed a while by then.

Dude, I'm at work righ tnow. 8am here.

I can browse HBT, look at porn and if I'm feeling frisky.... all while I'm "at work"

Wadduhyaknow, Deutschland.

Sweet. 1:18am here...time for bed.

i work afternoon shift(2:30pm-11pm), and the wife works bankers hours so she is in bed asleep when i get home at 11:30, and i'm usually up till about 1-2am. we only get to fall asleep together on the weekend nights that i don't work. as for "makin bacon", i will wake her when i get home or she will wake me when she wakes up. either way is all good:rockin:

We fall asleep together most of the time. The only exceptions are when she has to work on weekends and I don't. Either that or every now and then I'll bore her eyeballs out by hitting a little mary jane and playing video games :)

But overall we go to sleep together.

I almost always stay up later - quite a bit later. She's in bed by 9-9:30. I'm usually about 11 or so.

Sing it LOUD brother.

I don't get it either. And even after all that sleep it's always:
"I'm so tired..."
"I didn't sleep well last night..."
"Put that thing away...didn't you hear me say I'm tired?"...

Brother! :p

Ditto - although the first few days on my seasonal allergy meds has me going to bed early :drunk:

Mine ALWAYS passes out before me. By midnight, when I hit the sack, she's chopped down half the redwood forest. Hell...my 4yo daughter stays up later than my wife...and this is WITHOUT a nap during the day.
