Is this the correct way to wire the pump so I can use a switch to operate it?

IIRC, you need both hots (black) on one side of the switch. Connect them to the brass colored screws.

the switch you have there is a 4 way, while it can be made to work its not what you are looking for. you need one with only two terminals (+ ground if applicable)
