Hey,

Third batch - a hefeweizen - bubbling NICELY on day two. But, there is a distinct "sulpher-like" smell coming from the airlock. Not potent, but certainly noticeable.

Anything to be concerned about?

Here is my recipe:

1 Lb Carapils 15 L (steeped, 30 min, 158 F)
6.6 lbs LME wheat beer (Alexanders, fresh)
1oz Cascade, 6.8 AA, 35 min boil
1/5 oz Cascade, 5 min
Irish Moss, 1/4 tsp. at start of boil

Liquid Yeast - White Labs Hefeweizen
Pitched at 75 degrees

OG - 1.041

Thanks.

Lots of yeast will contribute a sulphur smell during some time in the fermentation process from what Ive read

+1 on what everyone else said but also..There are 3 different Hefe yeasts from WL the 300 320 and 380. If you used 320 or 380 you are going to get even more sulfur smell especially with the 320.
