I've seen some recipes that call for different types of sugars like demerara and turbinado. I've seen sugar products at Wal-Mart that claim they are these two types of sugar. One is "Sugar in the Raw natural cain turbinado sugar", and the other is Florida Crystals Demerara sugar". Has anyone ever used these products, or know if the are actually the type of sugar they claim to be?

I see that you currently have a Jaggery IPA fermenting. What kind of store did you find the Jaggery at?

I got the jaggery at Whole Foods, actually, and they called it coconut palm sugar. A lot of "jaggery" you find is cane sugar. It's fairly hard to find date or palm sugar. Palm sugar has a sort of buttery quality.
