There seems to be several of you brewers out there that differ on the subject of straining or not straining your wort before tossing into the fermenter. We haven't been brewing very long but we've always strained.

I'm looking for some arguments on both sides. If we don't strain will the break and other junk settle adequately? I've heard the yeast cake will just settle on top so it's no big deal. We don't harvest yeast anyway so this wouldn't be a problem for us.

Thanks for any input!

It seems like its more of a personal preference from what I understand. Ive done it both ways and prefer to just dump it all into the primary. Most of the junk drops to the bottom of the boil kettle anyway and Ill just stop pouring when I see the sediment.
