I put my 2 liter starter on my stir plate yesterday around noon, White Labs Belgian Abby Yeast. Everything was going great, went to bed left it on the stir plate. Woke up to a mess....goopy dough all down the sides of my flask:(. I just stopped stir plate, cleaned beaker and put in fridge to separate.

Is my starter still good is my only question? I am making a five gallon batch of Belgian Blonde, and its a huge starter, but after reading some posts I am just afraid all my good yeast is on the counter....and now in my washing machine.....

Your starter vessel still has viable yeast. You will need to determine how much yeast you have. Estimate after cold crashing.

Build a new starter based on your estimate of remaining yeast.

Use a much larger container of some sort. The container you use only needs a flat bottom for the stir bar to rotate on.
