Hi,

I own both a Chronical 7 Gallon and a 10 gallon SS Brewtech kettle.

I have done the following to see if the markings on both equipement were the same:

Filed in the kettle to the 5 gallon mark
then dumped it all into the fermenter.
Once in the fermenter it was, to my great surprise, at the 4.5 gallon mark.

I have done it with both the racking arm and the dump valve attached if it matters. Is this normal to have half a gallon in difference? Am I doing/interpreting something wrong?

Thanks,

Maybe they are accounting for .5 gallons of liquid below the pickup tube?

Or maybe the little Chinese kid that put the markings on screwed up.

It could be a "correction" for the volume below the pickup tube or manufacturing error.

I recently poured gallon jugs into my Ss boil kettle and the markings matched very closely- doubt it'll be the case for everyone just based on prion manufacturing experience. Never bothered to check on my brew bucket, but likely will over the weekend when the current batch is done. Unfortunately, I can't check on the unitank...
