My cider recipe was requested in another thread and I thought I'd post it here in case anyone else wants to try it. I make this every year in the fall. It's super easy to make and is always a crowd pleaser. Enjoy.

Ingredients:

1 gallon of fresh apple cider
2 cups Red Hot Candies
Cinnamon Sticks
Nutmeg
Dark Rum to taste (I use Goslings Black Rum)

Method:

Heat cider to a simmer.
Add Red Hot candy and stir until dissolved
Add rum to taste.
Add a cinnamon sticks to taste. I use two small McCormick jars.
Add nutmeg to taste
Add more red hot candies, if desired.
Simmer for 5-10 minutes.

Serve.

I typically make the cider in advance and serve it warm out of a crockpot. I throw the cinnamon sticks into the crockpot and put one in each mug when serving.

Sounds like a good drink to have whilst walking around with the kiddos trick-or-treating! Yum!
