looking to make some sort of spiced (think mulling) beer for late harvest/fall time. Anyone encounter a similar venture?

I was thinking of buying a wheat kit and adding the mulling spices to it. Thoughts?

Can't comment on mulled beers, but can say that Apfelwein is quite good with mulling spices added to it. No need to add the spices in the secondary, just at the time of serving. If you're looking for something to be ready late fall, apfelwein is the way to go!

dunno about mulling, but Leinikugels has a Sunset Wheat out that's lightly spiced, but is not a wit style.

might be worth tasting, just to give you some ideas.
