OH, and I loved the last recipe I tried, but this next time I'm using Lilac scent. I might try a different form of color too.
Be very careful - most florals accelerate like a SOB.
Some of my latest
I have bugs!
I thought superfat was adding a little more oil up to 5% and figured that was included in the recipe??Without going into soapcalc it looks fine. You could cut the recipe exactly in half. What's the superfat?

FWIW I bailed on the soap making today and spent the time ordering a new immersion blender, silicon loaf pans and a crinkle cutter dedicated to soap making. It'll be here in 2 days so I'm going to do a little more research
I plan on only using only my soap.Just like I only drink my beer and only eat my tomato sauce.I have some odd DIY off the grid obsession. I showed my wife the picture of the racks of soap you have a few pages back. She agreed that looks awesome and might just be a new obsession of mine. It's a slippery slope. Trust me. Go ahead, tell your wife you will only make one batch of soap. That's how it starts.

It may be fast..It may be slow but Hope you stick with me on my soap making journey Thanks
The best soap i ever used was your tallow bar.
Also after using the immersion blender can it be reused for food, the wife wont let me use it otherwise LOL
The "loaf" smells overly scented.I'm hoping that settles down after 3 weeks curing.I went by the calculator.
I'm making my wifes tomorrow and were both hoping for some color additives.Anything I can buy at the grocery store to make it look a little nicer? Either full color or playing around with a wooden skewer making lines
Awesome thanks!!! We'll give it a shot! (Cocoa powder)One thing I like is cocoa powder- just the plain stuff, mixed in a little of the oil from the recipe. Then I pour it at thin trace, and pour the chocolate colored stuff from a little pyrex pitcher lifting it quite high (so it goes deeper in the soap) and lower. Then use a skewer and go sideways across to swirl it across.
Or you could use melted baking chocolate (ONLY! no milk chocolate) if you have that in the cupboard.

They may be using a different super fat percentage and a water discount.
Unless you are dead set on the use of essential oils, I would look to fragrance oils as a less expensive and more effective method of adding fragrance. It's not very often that I want a single aroma in my soaps. I do however have a variety of fragrance oils I turn to quite often.Loading up on essential oils. How is Amazon for oil? They have alot of Sun Essential brand oils with lots of reviews.Im looking at 2 oz and 4 oz bottles that will add up in cost.Where would be the best CHEAPEST place to buy oil...Thanks
