ok 24 hours since pitching the yeast into the wort. liquid yeast.

should it take this long? this is my third batch... the first ale started bubbling in about 18 hours

my second hefe took about 5 hours.

this guy is taking so long. if i shake the bucket lots of CO2 comes out....but if it's just sitting there....it's not very active...

what did i do wrong? what should i do now?

RELAX, dont worry and have a home brew.

Did you do a starter? If not it could take over 48 hours for a liquid yeast to really start going. Be patient and dont stress! I am sure everything is fine.

Same problem I had about 3 months ago. Check it out

In the end, turned out just fine. Weird, no doubt, but with a living, breathing thing like yeast, you just never know what's gonna happen.

Double check the seal on your lid. If you shake it you are pushing the CO2 out faster so it might be enough pressure to move the airlock but without shaking it might such a small pressure it is making its way out a leak.

Either way, RDWHAHB, it will be fine.
