Leipziger's Gose... think I might want to hunt that one down. I've had that rauchbier they mentioned.... I thought it was very one dimensional, and basically like liquid hot dogs.
 
I was surprised to remember that I actually had one of those beers, back in '66 when the destroyer I was serving on visited Wilhelmshaven on the North Sea. Went up to Jever with a guy in the Luftwaffe and ended up drinking the local brew. At that young age, made absolutely no impression on me, I'm sorry to say......
 
I just had that Gose recently. I wasn't really impressed. Kind of like an unfiltered pilsner (keller bier), with salt in it. Berliner Weisse is ten times better.
