seal on cooler/mash tun

I have two orange igloo coolers from home depot, one 5 and the other is ten gallon. I haveterrible luck apparently as both leak(ed) from the jump street and are now damaged to the point of no return. What else can i use to ensure a good seal and ensure it is thick enough.to keep my ss washer off the side.of the cooler? Also, where do i purchase/find said product you recommend? Thanks.

Did you break the plastic ring that originally sealed the cooler? If so, you probably need a couple thick silicone o rings, or a flat silicone washer. I'm in Canada so I usually get stuff like that from OBK but I'm sure bargain fittings and brewers hardware can both find those for you.
