what are you looking for? for running water, sure, for running wort, you need a food grade magnetic pump.

I'm going to use it for cleaning, so it has to be able to withstand the heat, chemicals, and have enough power to run the spray ball..

a sump pump would probably shut down to heat to be honest.

the harbor freight one looks like it could work, I guess it all depends on what the impeller is made out of. the cast frame should be just fine...

To be honest people have reported the cheapo plastic sump pumps to be effective in this regard.

I have a harbor freight plastic sump pump that I have been using for a couple years to clean fermenters and kegs. It works excellent. I use the hottest water my water heater can put out. As well as pbw and star san. No issues yet. It gets used a lot! I brew 20 gallon batches with 20+ kegs I clean constantly.

I've read reviews on the HF pump wearing out the brushes quickly and no replacements available. What model do you have? If you don't know the model maybe you can remember about how much you paid, I may be able to narrow it down that way.

I just recently got one of these from Amazon but it appears they've sold out. It works great and has more than enough power...to the point I had to reset the tension on the clamps on my SS chronical because cleaning solution was shooting out the lid.

It appears to be pretty close this one from Harbor Freight but was only $89.99.

I was looking at that hf stainless one, but I thought I wouldn't be able to supply the 1 inch inlet with water fast enough

This is similar to what I use. I've added 1" unions to the intake and outlet. Adapting other size tubing to alternate mating union pieces makes it really interchangeable for many applications without having to tear everything down
