Road trip advice needed Portland to Oakland

I know this roadtrip has been covered before but I am looking for advice on more than just beer. I am going to a wedding the first weekend in August in Hood River OR. After that we are going to be heading down to Oakland for UFC 117.

Of course being around this many great breweries I want to stop and visit as many as possible while still seeing other cool things along the way. We will be towing either a camper or small sailboat with us and camping as much as we can along the way.

I have promised SWMBO she will get to see the Redwoods, other than that we are open to suggestions of what to do in 6 days between Hood River OR and Oakland Ca.

In particular:

• Beer related sites
• non beer related things to see
• Routes to travel
• Campgrounds

BTW: the tentative beer itinerary includes: Deschutes, Rogue, Hopworks
Sierra Nevada, Russian River
