I have brewed about 10 batches now and my last one was a Raging Biaatch clone which turned out great.

I ordered a lot of different hops and some liquid yeast and wanted to have a go at another Belgian IPA using WLP500. I heard that this yeast could be a bit fruity/bannana so I thought some Rye would pair well with that.

After some searching I found the recipe below on another forum.
The person who posted it didn't get any feedback but it looks damm tasty to me.

The only problem is that I don't have any Newport or Simcoe.
I'm comfortable enough subbing the Newport with Nugget but I'm not sure what would be good to replace the Simcoe with. Of course it's not going to taste exactly like Simcoe but somethings I could add at 20 min that will compliment the Summit and Nugget.

I have galaxy, columbus, amarillo, cascade, citra, magnum, perle, cluster, summit, belma, chinook, east kent goldings, saaz, fuggles, target, aurora, willamette, mitelfrüh, tettnang, falconer's flight.

I might also change the hops schedule a bit to include a hopstand/whirlpool.
The recipe is from a few years ago when aroma additions were not as in as they are today.

Thanks! :mug:

It will be nothing like Simcoe at all, but I would be tempted to use a 50/50 mix of Perle and Tettnang.
They go very well together and are, imho, great in Belgian style beers

OK great thanks for the tip.

Another option could be to just use more Summit and Nugget like they do for Green Flash Le Freak Belgian IPA.

I wont be brewing this for a few weeks so any advice is welcome.
