So I'm having a problem with my regulator that is one year old. I had a leak in my system and the tank drained rather quickly. So I fixed the leak, went and got a refill, brought the tank back home, and reconnected the regulator. I turned on the tank and the pressure spiked up and the pressure relief valve starts going off like a machine gun. Called the LHBS and they said the relief valve was bad but what I don't understand is why the pressure spiked without adjusting the gas pressure going into regulator.
