Regulator hookup

I got a new 2.5 gallon co2 tank and regulator but am not sure which parts go where when hooking up the regulator connection. Without any directions my best guess is these 3 small parts go together as pictured. What is that small gold piece and what purpose does it serve? Thanks.

You don't need teflon tape on gas connections as they should seal with the gasket. Just a tip in case you run out and panic when you're re-connecting the stuff

The small gold piece is a filter to keep dirt out of the regulator. I am surprised that it was not installed at the factory.

Thanks for the info. I don't recall any of those fittings on my other c02 tank in my kegerator.
