Pictures from our family hike up Hurricane Mountain in the Adirondacks. What an amazing view! I feel these pictures don’t do it justice.

It's pretty lovely around Canadaigua too, speaking as one who has vacationed for years in Skaneateles.
Thanks it is a beautiful place for sure but living in and around this area for almost 40 years you kind of take it for granted. The finger lakes region is nice including Skaneateles and many other towns.

I don't know if they still do the Grape Festival in/near Canadaigua or not, it's been a very long time since we lived outside of Rotten-weather-chester, but I do still remember the concord grape pies that were sold there. I remember enjoying a warm piece of that pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Good eats!

I love plant-based sausages. All-beef sausages. Cows eat plants, therefore all beef sausages are plant-based.
Since 95% of what I eat are ruminants it looks like I can call myself plant based.

Yeah they still do the Grape Festival in Naples, NY just south of Canandaigua. I too enjoy a good grape pie! There’s no shortage of grapes in the Finger Lakes Region, wineries forever it seems like.

if you're going thru all that bother to have your food resemble meat...

just eat the fookin' meat already
...And taste like meat..

For the most part, I have wondered this Myself. However, I don't mind non-meat sausages, with the explicit statement that I do not eat them as a meat substitute; rather, I respect them for whatever they may be. The **** that they make to look and taste like meat can GTFO!
If I want meat, I want meat, not meat flavored mystery product. If I want veggie, I want veggie that stands alone.

Back on topic to random pics. Someone posted this here already afew months back.

@daytripper I spent the better part of a summer in Homer Alaska living in a tent on the beach in the late 70s (Maybe the 70s were kind of a blur.) Is Lands End resort still there at the end of the spit?

Ummm.....I have to confess that was a grab from my FB feed that struck my funny bone. Totally "random".
However, with a tiny bit of research, it appears the Lands End Resort is still a going concern.

fwiw, I have been to 48 states, roughly half on business. Hawaii and Alaska are still on the "bucket list"...

Cheers!

You're right, I forgot it was in Naples. It was probably 1990 since I was there and had one. I do really miss the sweet corn from that area, have never had better anywhere I've lived.

Thats probably the best description I’ve heard of the current school setup
