I am sure it would work, but just to double check. I am brewing an IPA tonight and my kits from MW always turn out dark, so will doing a late extract addition work? Should I put only the 2 lbs dry in then liquid later?

Extracts just tend to end up darker, don't worry about it much. I always thought the same thing but didn't read about this fact until after I had switched to all grain and realized it for myself.

Late extract addition will help keep the color lighter and can also cut back on the "twang"- Do you boil with 1 lb per gallon, hop as normal and add the rest at flame out.
