What's a legitimate keg? I've only heard of them before, but never seen one in real life!

it means it wasn't owned by another brewery at some point. buying branded kegs off of, for instance, craigslist is sortof a legal gray area because they're technically still property of that brewery. a "legitimate" keg wouldn't have any company markings on it.

personally, i don't care where kegs come from as long as they're cheap. but that wasn't the question
