haha, i thought that you had them crash at your place and they literally did pull the first pint. i think that would have blown my mind :drunk:

They're cool guys. The touring band I was in played with them back before anyone knew who they were. It was 2002-2003.

That's comeback kid now? Maybe I'm old school but I remember them when turn it around was all they had out. Wake the dead was a fine album too

Yep. Broadcasting is a good record, but they definitely went harder with that one. Symptoms And Cures was more thrash and Die Knowing kind of combines all of their material.

Nice! Last time I saw them was with Gorilla Biscuits back in 2006.

I gave some homebrews to the current vocalist in Shai Hulud last time they were in town. Said he enjoyed them so that's cool (I wonder where I got my screen name from lol)

Finally got my vinyl unpacked. Figured some crusty Japanese peacepunk sounded good. Can't remember where I got this one but its really good for crusty peacepunk. Now I'm wishing I still had my Armistice or Whorehouse of Representatives on vinyl.

Nice. I'm going to see Anti-Nowhere League on the 22nd of this month. I'm stoked for that. Off just came through about 1 1/2 weeks ago, but I had to teach a class that night...

Off of the aforementioned vinyl.

Cro-Mags and ANL will be playing together soon. That oughta be fun. Every time that Cro-Mags come through I have to miss it for one reason or another, and I haven't seen ANL before either. I was never huge into them but I'd dig seeing em.

there's some good punk bands from here in orlando worth checking out

I only ever liked the Ramones, but too me they were not real punk, but then again not listening to any others it is hard to compare. To me they had the physical image of punk but there songs were actually more like Beatle songs in their composition.

Yea, like, "The KKK took my Baby Away" and "Sheena is a Punk Rocker."

No punk in the new episode of Ale & Metal TV. But there is some OPETH at the end. Which, because Opeth cannot be categorized, is the close enough! Check it out.

I recently got my tickets to see the Offspring in August. I normally would NEVER go see the Offspring, but they're playing songs from Smash. Pennywise, Bad Religion and Stiff Little Fingers will be playing as well.

This cover of Degenerated gives me goosebumps.

There's a time for takin', and a time for givin', but rippin' off the Butthole Surfers is how they make their livin'

Make that double.

Two groups reliably sell out IMMEDIATELY around here (and probably everywhere). Social D, and Cock Sparrer.

Are you going to the Baltimore show or the Philly show? Missed them in Philly last year cause tickets sold out in like a day. Than they added a second show at the door the day of the show.

I'm broke as f*** right now but assuming tickets are still available in the AM when my wife is awake (who isn't broke as f*** and likes em too) probably the Baltimore show.

I know this is an old post, but I saw No Means No in Rapid City, SD many years ago when all the EMO kids still wanted to look like Buddy Holly. they would always crowd right in front where the pit was going on and pitch a fit because someone bumped them. one of them tried that crap on me. "Why are you trying to ruin the show for me?!?" it was a mild circle pit so when I come around again, I ran full force and shouldered the cry baby. he ran off crying to the bathroom with 3 or 4 friends in tow. "Thanks for ruining the show!" you're welcome, sissy pants!

Yeah I had to wait till I got paid this Friday and was convinced they'd be sold out, but not yet!

I never understand why people who stand right in front of the stage get upset about that stuff. I understand if you don't want to get in the pit but you will get bumped into up front. I've been lucky enough to see Youth Brigade, The Cockney Rejects, TSOL, Black Flag, and The Adicts over the last year or so.

I ain't been to a show in almost a decade.

edit: but I did fall asleep (not pass out) at Slayer about 9 years ago!

Hasn't been an issue lately since I don't go to many shows any more but back in the day, some feuds just got taken out in the pit. If I was standing on the sidelines and some dude spin kicked me in the face (it happened) I'd dropkick the piece of crap in the knee later on during the show and then kick him a few times while he was down. No whining. Just street justice.

If you don't want to get roughed up just stay at the f***ing bar.

I just remembered a friend of mine inviting his then girlfriend to her first punk show which ended up being MDC and the Subhumans. Her reaction to the crowd was priceless!

Ahhahaha...my wife and her girlfriends will do that some times. I saw no means no in phoenix 15 years ago and it was one of the best pits Ive ever seen. I still enjoy a good murphys law show though. Those kids know how to have a good time and theres nothing better than dancing around and getting sprayed with tons of beer. Haha...wonder what that emo kid would have done if you shook up a can of cheap beer and opened it in his face?

Seeing Cock Sparrer at the end of November...

I saw them in June at Amnesia Rockfest in Quebec. Social D was there too. You need to get up to Quebec next June.

Cock Sparrer was the last band to play. These guys are in their sixties and are still pulling it off. They blew everyone else out of the water. They were fantastic.

They were set to play for an hour and ended up doing close to 2 hours.

My goal is to see them again at Punk Rock Bowling in LV this Spring.

The lineup for Amnesia Rockfest looked awesome, too bad it was thousands of miles away. My friend saw Cock Sparrer in Philadelphia last year and said it was nuts. Glad to hear it'll be a good show.

I've seen The Business come through a few times, and Cockney Rejects and Sham 69 each once. Granted the first two are a touch younger, but Sham 69 was old and fat and still put on a hell of a show (better than the godawful acts they had opening for them). I still haven't been able to see Cock Sparrer. I asked my wife to buy tickets. She muttered something about The Casualties sucking (which I completely agree with) and then that was the last of it. So I don't know if she did.

True story.

I saw the Business play with the Nekromantix a long time ago (2002?) and it was pretty good. I've seen the a few times afterwards but it was unremarkable. I actually ran into Mickey Fitz randomly in Richmond once. My friends band was playing a bar on the same block as the Business were playing another club, I had no idea and was quite surprised to see him walk by in the alley while I was having a cig!
