Let me know if there may be a more appropriate place to post this vid.

CHEERS!

Just saw Band Called Death on Netflix. I was amazed how beyond their time they were in terms of punk sound and style. It's too bad they never caught on.

Last night I went to a local dive bar and saw a few punk bands. Really I only went to see Off With Their Heads, but a couple other bands were playing so I thought I'd check them out.

I had 4 craft beers (Two Lagunitas IPA, one 4 Peaks Kiltlifter and one 4 Peaks Pumpkin Porter). I figured I had enough craft beer that I could buy something cheap and get away with it so I got a tall boy of PBR. I took one sip and said to the guys I was hanging out with "Well, that was a mistake". All in all I had a good time though.

My wife and I just watched "The Other F Word". It's available on Netflix streaming right now. A bunch of familiar faces (Jim Lindberg, Duane Peters, Fat Mike, and a bunch more) in a documentary about when punks grow up and have kids. Made me feel like less of an old fart cause I don't have kids. But I know some of y'all do, so it may not have the same effect. Hah.

Cockney Rejects and Cro-Mags in May. The last (and my first) Rejects show I went to was badass. I'm stoked. And it's close enough that I can make my wife drive and I can get piss drunk :rockin:

Episode 2 of Ale and Metal TV. Perhaps we will do a punk episode. Any music suggestions?

Yeah, I saw that. Overall it's a good documentary. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

If you're looking for punk music that's more metal influenced (or music that appeals to both) you have a lot of options. Anything off of Undisputed Attitude by Slayer, Motorhead, Suicidal Tendencies, Gwar, any of the later stuff by Discharge and later stuff by The Exploited would be good starts.

By the way, you guys make me laugh. I just have fun when I brew as well. If a hop addition is a little late it's kind of like "oh well". :D

So, I got Comeback Kid - Die Knowing today. Here are my thoughts.

I'm not a huge fan of the mix because the guitars are too loud and the vocals/drums kind of get buried because of it. They have a lot of the thrash element from Symptoms and Cures that made it's way on to Die Knowing. Also, a few songs are reminiscent of the style they had on Broadcasting and they even threw in a couple of punk songs for good measure. Overall I like it, I just wish the record wasn't over compressed.

We just released the next episode of Ale and Metal TV. Mostly metal but there is some Anthrax in there. Enjoy.

It's a scientifically proven fact. Every rock 'n roll band should have a Farfisa organ.
