I have a friend who really likes the beers I make but says they always have "floaters" as he calls it. The bits of yeast on the bottom. Its not any more than any bottle conditioned beer. I tell him to pour it in a mug and he continues to drink it out of the bottle. So when I was bottling my stout last night I had the last bottle half full instead of drinking it like we all do. I noticed the carboy had some dregs and about a half a bottle of beer in it. I poured it into the beer capped it and today it has about 2 inches of yeast in the bottom of the bottle. I plan to surprise him with it some night after the sun is down and hes had a few. I don't know when I'll get my chance to lay it on him but would there be any problems with that much yeast in the bottle like the dreaded "off flavors?" yeast autolysis or something else I don't know about? I don't want anything unusual to mess up the joke.
