I was finally able to get around to cleaning and sanitizing one of my recently-purchased corny kegs. The black plastic end caps made an absolute mess of things. No matter how much I scrubbed or rinsed, the would still coat anything that touched them with black -my hands, the tub bottom, etc. Is this a fairly common issue with these used kegs, or did I just happen to get one that the plastic is wearing away to nothing? I may have to buy some rubber gloves to wear just for cleaning kegs if this is a common problem.

Buy some car tire dressing - the stuff that makes your old tires look shiney and new. I spray it on my kegs and let them drip dry. End of problem. You might also try the stuff for the indoor vinyl surfaces of your car, something like the original Armor All
