I usually pitch my rehydrated dry yeast before I aerate the wort, which I accomplish by pouring back and forth between the bucket and kettle a few times.
Is this okay or should I wait until afterwords? This is perhaps nit-picking a little but I thought I'd ask.

Also totally separate, it feels weird (if I go this route) to sprinkle dry yeast on 3 or 4 inches of foam, is that cool too?

Thanks!

If you've properly rehydrated the yeast I don't see what difference the order makes.

Rehydrated dry yeast don't need excess oxygen in the wort as long as you pitch an appropriate quantity. All of the nutrients and sterols that they need are present in the dried yeast.
