A couple red flags to me, I don't see any mention of whether the probe is replacable nor anything re resolution (e.g. 3.1 versus 3.19).

Good points, thanks. On another site it says the resolution is 0.1, but nothing about if the probe is replaceable, which makes me assume it's probably not. Sounds like I might be better off with something else.

I'd recommend going for one with .01 resolution and replacable probes. That said, probes can be pricey...around $30-40 for some models. The higher resolution is nice, especially for measuring the pH of sours.

I have this one from Hanna and so far I really like it, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0085WV6GM/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Several guys in my brew club have this Milwaukee MW102, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DTNDME/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

The base price is lower on the Hanna, but the replacement probes are more expensive, so it's kind of sixes in the end.
