Oak chips question

I am currently soaking my oak chips in Irish whiskey and filled it until it just hit the top of the chips. Now they've soaked up the whiskey and the liquor is about half as much as it was, exposing the top layer of chips to the air in the tupperware container. Any worry about mold or any type of infection into the beer? I've never soaked oak chips before. Thanks!

I dont think so,its like hops and dryhopping the alcohol should kill any critters,but i usually boil mine in a little water then just drain a little and dump them in, no problems.
