The little o-ring on my plastic bucket fermentor (where the airlock goes) is almost cut in two from use, age, being stored for years in my dad's attic. So, where can I get a new one? Also, what are they officially called?

it's called a grommet. you can find one at your local hardware store.

funny you should ask this question, I just got back from lowes trying to figure out the size. I have the midwest homebrew kit and their holes take a 5/8OD X 3/8 ID grommet and lowes does have them in two packs which is good cause I see myself breaking them again.

Edit: I found them in the Hardware section

the only problem is... I don't have a hole saw or drill bit that big so I either spend .50 on a grommet or 9.00 on a hole saw. hmmmm.
