My nuggets are 4 yo now. Used miracle grow organic fertilizer beginning, middle and beginning of July. They have never gotten more then 10 feet long until this yr. Might be the fertilizer, having them at a steeper angle from fence extensions or both. Nuggets hit the end of 15' twine and still growing and so many long side arms its scary.
The new plants (not from rhizome) alpharoma and 2 diamond springs you can see are growing towards top of 6' fence.
Depending on this next months weather the harvest brews may be amazing.

How have the beers you brewed with them turned out?

Here in Virginia my Chinook have been my monster hop. I got about 8 oz of wet hops in year 1, a bit over 2 lbs last year, and hopefully I can get 1 lb of dried hops off the plant this year. My Triple Perle hops did okay in their 2nd year but I did not get to harvest them before they dried up. Hopefully I can get a decent yield this year. I have a Tahoma plant that is pretty weak, but at last sent some bines to the top of my supports. I have a US Goldings plant that might have a few bines that are 5ft long. All are 3rd year plants.

I used 1 ounce cascade pellets @60 to make sure I had enough bitterness then 10 oz fresh picked nugget @ 15 plus 6 oz fresh picked nugget with 4 oz fresh Willamette @5 using my standard pale ale recipe. Came out awesome, very citrusy. I had them in grain bags, next one I will use my biab to hold them so they can float more commando.

@Saunassa I am having amazing results with a couple of Nuggets also. Last year I planted a Nugget rhizome with six other varieties in a small hop garden on the family farm. They out performed everything else that I planted. This spring I planted three rhizomes at my new home. A Cascade, a Sterling and a Centenial. All three were replacements from last years purchase of seven with only four managing to survive. This year the Nuggets took off and is growing like crazy. I've had to cut it back twice. It is producing beautiful new shoots from underneath. Back to the three at my home. Only two of the three managed to sprout. The Cascade and the Sterling came up and are doing fairly well. However the Centennial was moldy in the sealed plastic wrap when received. It failed to sprout. Now it's late July in the smoldering north Alabama summer heat. The 3rd of July I transplanted a shoot off the Nugget from the farm to replace the failed Centennial. In this intense heat I had little hope of it surviving. Not only is it surviving in three weeks it has surpassed the other two and looks much stronger. I'm now a believer that Nuggets are beast. 1st pic (Nugget) 2nd (Cascade) and 3rd is the (Sterling). I believe a rabbit munched on it as there were pellets near by.

Well I only harvested 5 ounces wet of Willamette because the main bine broke about a foot from the ground during a storm. Nuggets are going to be amazing and I will get a few handfuls from the Diamonds Spring I planted end of May.

I harvested almost 2 lbs of Nuggets day before yesterday. Dried them for 16 hrs and netted 10 ozs that I vacuum sealed and tossed in the freezer. I got a few ozs of Cascade, Columbus and Sterling. My Nuggets far out performed all my other hops this. Year. The drought impacted everything.

Now my Willamette and the nugget on outside of fence look like expected cones, but the nugget on inside fence has larger hops. Anyone know why this is?
