I certainly don't want to start, yet another, AL/SS thread but for those who are interested, I just picked up a 30 qt, Aluminium stock pot with a spigot already installed and a lid for $30.
Rural King (farm store) had it on the shelf and I got the last one.
As an experiment, I dumped 5.5 gal. in it and I had vigorous boil going on in just under an hour on the kitchen stove.
I would prefer a ball valve but, I figure when the spigot wears out, replacing it won't be that big of a deal.
I gotta admit......it looks pretty cool on the stove!
