Newbie from the foothills of Maine

Hello all,

I guess I'm the newest kid on the block. I live in the foothills of Maine, near the NH border. Unfortunately, my closest HBS is about 35 miles away, although the health food stores in the area do stock a limited supply of materials.

Anyway, the forum had this post reminding me that I had not posted yet, so here it is....lol.

Welcome to the board, Dave.

It's really great to have an LHBS nearby, and 35 miles isn't that bad if you plan your shopping and stock up when you go. However, there are also numerous places to buy equipment and supplies and grains and stuff online, and sometimes that is just a lot more convenient. Sometimes cheaper too.

Those aren't really near you, but shipping is cheap (AHBS) or free (morebeer).

Hey, I feel privileged that your 1000 post was to me....quite an accomplishment. I belong to a Barbecue forum, and just got to over 300 posts, and that took me almost 1 year.
