I am in the process of brewing a new zealand pilsner but I am entering in a competition using 2015 style guidelines. Without being able to enter it as a nz pilsner where would it fit ? I am thinking an American ipa but not positive.
Any ideas ?

Surprised there are comps out there still using 2015 styles. What's the comp? I would say either 2A - International Pale Lager and specify NZ Pils or maybe even 34B mixed style as an IPL, with noting the base style as a German Pilsner with NZ hops? But your APA suggestion could work also, as that style does mention new world hops as being allowed.

I had a NZ Pils that I entered in comps as it's own X5 category per 2021 guidelines, and have found comps have placed it at Pilsner tables, Specialty Beer tables, pale bitter lagers tables etc...so even comps don't know where to put it sometimes!

I am curious about this as well. The 2021 update page says "Catharina Sour and New Zealand Pilsner move into the Local Styles section for Brazil and New Zealand, respectively." Does this mean there are comps in New Zealand that accept New Zealand Pilsner as a style?
