I'm currently 6 days into the first fermentation of my very first batch of kombucha, and I've noticed what looks like 4 new SCOBYs forming. 3 are just floating around inside the liquid, and one is forming at the surface. Is this normal? I have heard that a new scoby is supposed to form but I didn't expect this many. Any help is greatly appreciated!

The solid part is called a pellicle.
It's normal for a pellicle to fall if it gets disturbed and a new one to form on the surface.

The actually SCOBY (bacteria and yeast) are present throughout all the pellicles, liquid, and sediment.

Cheers
