I've been making fruit wines since 2008 with some successes (Oregon grape was best, elderberry, choke cherry amazing with almost decade in bottle - not as good after 1 year).. Jack Keller website and book taught me all I know.
For past few years I've been teaching myself cider making. Still on the learning curve with only a few real successes. I'm experimenting with hops and other fruits as well as apple (raspberry, cherry, crab apple). I still reference jack Keller and also Annie Proulx cider book.
I'm wary of advice on forums and have often called advisers "yahoos" because I see things like "I don't really have experience but I think.." and I've seen bad advice. But I'm ready to listen and learn more.
