Hey guys!

Just thought I'd share the latest mash paddle I've completed and my favorite beer recipe ( at the moment at least )

brewday.jpg

The paddle is made from solid hard maple and is customized with bat cutouts and the customer's name and brewery name.

It's about 32" long with a custom curved paddle design, so it's easier to avoid all the little things like thermometers and false bottom handles that stick into the interior space of his mash tun.

It's sitting on a 10.5 gal polarware pot for size reference.

The beer that's sitting on it is my favorite ipa/barley wine/whatever you want to call it.

The 0 min hops are added after I bring the wort to 180 degrees and left to steep for 20 mins or so before I cool further.

I like to use a dry yeast, bry-97. I tried 1272 once and it wasn't as good. And I usually just dry hop in the keg now.

It may look like it would be really sweet but the brown malt and all the hops balance it out very well.
