New-old brewer
Hey guys, just wanted to say hi quick. My name is Jim, and I started brewing this past summer.
I have been in the USAF for 12 years and I deploy roughly 200 days a year. I'm married with 3 boys. I like to read, hunt and fish, travel and listen to music. I speak a few other languages.
My first beer was a Sam Adam's light clone and it came out pretty dang good. Since then I have made:
Chocolate coffee stout- pretty good, too sweet for me out of the bottle after a month, 6 weeks later it mellowed
Pumpkin spiced ale- dang good, wish I would have used more pumpkin though
Honey brew ale- not honey flavored enough, second round I went with honey 4 days after the primary, came out much better
Right now I have a Maibock, an English Honey nut brown ale and a little recipe of my own I call "Dead MA Ale" (MA is military terminology for airborne recon guys like me).
I look forward to sharing some stories with you guys about beer.
